The term Silicon Rubber covers a large group of materials in which Methyl, Vinyl, Silicon (MVQ) is the main. Silicon Elastomers as a group have relatively poor Tensile Strength and poor Wear & Tear Resistance. However, they have many Special Properties. Silicon in general has good Heat Resistance upto +230C and good Cold Flexibility upto -60C, good Weather Resistance and good Insulating and Physiologically Neutral Properties.
